Should I Double Text? A Two-Minute Check
Six questions about the message she hasn’t answered. One honest answer: send, wait, or leave it, with a better second message if one is fair.
Tell the check how long it has been since your message, what that message was, how many of your messages are waiting, how the conversation was going, how fast she usually replies, and what you want to send next. It tells you whether a second message is fair now, when it would be, and what kind fits: something new, a callback, a plan, or one easy follow-up on an invitation. It also tells you what never to send, and when to stop.

The rules it follows
- A few hours without a reply is normal. A second message that soon only makes sense if it’s practical.
- After a question or an answer to hers, wait about a day. After an invitation, two or three days.
- If she usually takes a day or more to reply, add a step: her pace isn’t a signal.
- If she signed off for the night, tomorrow is a fresh conversation.
- A second message must stand on its own: new, light, and never about the silence.
- Two messages waiting is the limit. The next move is hers.
- Practical messages, like running late or confirming a time, don’t count as double texting.
These rules come from our guide on whether you should double text, and the timing guide on how long to wait before texting again.
What it won’t do
It won’t tell you whether she likes you. One unanswered message is weak evidence either way, and the check deliberately doesn’t guess. It also won’t help you send a third message: if two are waiting, the honest answer is to wait. If it has been weeks rather than days, you’re planning a restart, not a double text, and the Cold Restart planner is the better tool. If she read your message and didn’t reply, see what to do when she leaves you on read.
Questions
Is double texting always bad?
No. A second message that adds something new, after a reasonable gap, is normal between adults. It becomes a problem when it repeats the first, comes within hours, or carries guilt like “guess you’re busy”.
How long should I wait before double texting?
Usually about a day after a question, and two or three days after an invitation. If she normally replies slowly, wait longer. A few hours without a reply means nothing.
What should a double text say?
Something that works on its own: a small story, a playful question, a callback to something she said, or a specific plan. Never a reminder of the unanswered message.
Does it store what I enter?
No. Everything runs in your browser on your own phone or computer. Nothing you enter is sent to us, and nothing is saved.
