About the example conversations
The conversations on these pages are illustrative. They’re written to show a pattern clearly, based on the kinds of exchanges men send us and describe to us, not copied from anyone’s real messages. Names, places and details are invented. Each guide shows a weaker version and a better version of the same moment, so you can see exactly what changed and why.
Our editorial standards
- One guide, one situation. Each page answers a specific question. If two questions need the same answer, they get one page, not two.
